“We have 25 Tobias Scanning Densitometers divided between our two locations. We run them closed loop on our Perreta consoles. Whenever we train operators who are not familiar with computerized density control, the learning process moves smoothly once the operators see the benefits the SDT will bring them. One big advantage is that our makeready time and spoilages have been greatly reduced. We have also established house densities that we like to hit and with the SDT we can come up to color much quicker.
